Neurodivergence & Addiction Workshop: A Psychoeducational Workshop Series — Part 1
Join us January 20th from 10am to 12pm to learn more about neurodivergence and addiction!
Neurodivergent individuals are disproportionately impacted by substance use challenges—yet this intersection is often misunderstood, overlooked, or approached through models that don’t fully account for nervous system differences.
This workshop is designed for:
Neurodivergent adults
Individuals in recovery or supporting recovery
Parents and loved ones
Mental health, medical, and recovery professionals
Educators and community members
You do not need a diagnosis or professional background to attend.
🔹 WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
This 2-hour virtual workshop is the first in an ongoing series focused on understanding addiction through a neuroaffirming and nervous-system-informed lens.
Topics include:
How neurodivergence (including ADHD and Autism) intersects with addiction
The role of sensory processing, emotional regulation, and executive functioning
Masking, burnout, and nervous system overwhelm in recovery
Why traditional recovery models may not meet neurodivergent needs
General strategies and considerations for more sustainable, affirming support
This workshop emphasizes understanding, context, and compassion rather than blame or oversimplification.
